Once you finish Cho's Estate, go to Seitung Harbor. There's another Purity member there that offers a follow-up.

You know I am happy that we are getting updates, I really am. But, I am not sure why I thought before the update that getting lost again in the city/under city sections of Cantha was going to be fun The "kill 10 X quests" didn't make it any more enjoyable.

I'm a little bummed with most of the other weapons. I am hoping that because these are purple that we will see better in later updates.

From what I read here, all new quests seem to be even worse in design than wik. I have to agree with Shoyon, it doesn't look like GW2's quest design will be any better than SWTOR's. After all, it's the same studio working on GW2 and maintaining GW1.
At least the design philosophy is usually shared by all teams, hence we get a glimpse of the average quest in the upcoming MMO.

Most likely a completely wrong line of logic.
GW1 is on "life support". Only a tiny number of people work on it, mostly just Stumme. Also, it's limited by the engine. So, of course all the quests follow a standard setting: go to point x, kill enemies at point y, listen to dialogue at point Z. I've done all of GW1s quests, and done 99% of them 10 times - they are, in the end, all the same, if you don't follow them as a part of the storyline.
GW2 is definitely going to have a different approach. The Dynamic events are meant to be an evolution of the classic MMO quest, adding tons of depth(although, in the end, with an MMO where you only fight, they can be reduced to, essentially, go to point X and kill things). The classic, basic quests should only appear in GW2's personal storyline.
Basic differences for Dynamic events:
-public (anyone can join up)
-more deeply integrated into the environment (you see smoke on the horizon, you can assume something is going on there and you can do somethign about it)
-dynamic - they start, progress and conclude even without your intervention (in a long cycle) and have effects on the environment
-failable, with failure having consequences for the environment
-multiplicative rewards to stimulate cooperation
So, less talking to just one NPC, more looking at the environment and going "Oh, so now that we've fixed the irrigation system, the grass IS going green again" "Oh, now that the bandits have been driven away, we can actually see caravans moving again".
Well, that's what Anet are aiming for, anyway. They won't get it perfectly, but I'm sure they'll get it at least about right.

Maybe we are supposed to really really hate the Purity guys, and acts 2 and 3 are gonna be about killing them and stuff with all the gangs.
Cuz I REALLY hate the Purity guys and this is my only explanation for these horrible quests.

I'm enjoying these quests, maybe it's because factions was my favorite campaign?

At the moment (Morostav Trail is my next quest) i like the new stuff - and the [partly] untouched old school aspect.
I have doubts whether I'll like the HM, because WiK HM seemed pretty easy as opposed to this.

I was having trouble with this at first as well. But like another poster said earlier, bring a lot of support. It's more about actually enduring the assault and completing the ritual than killing everything.

Well, you'll see as you get to the arc with the jade brotherhood, it's not all about cleansing the streets of Cantha of afflicted (well you do do that), there's some story development going on.
What I wanna know is, is that cinematic bugged? I saw a skip button, screen went black, and all I saw was ... To be continued...

I didn't expect much from the new content, just something to keep us busy.
No point complaining about it if it's too grindy for you. Simply don't do em.

No its not bugged. They use the cut scene mechanism to say To Be Continued. Its a pretty clear way to show you have gotten to the end of this storyline so far. Cut scenes like they have in the Proph, Factions, NF and EoTN were done by voice actors and take time to make. They don't have the resources to make those type of cut scenes anymore.

Shame, I like watching those, the first time anyway, and with heroes, I don't like to make groups wait on me for them, but if I'm solo I'll watch them to see what's going on.
He pointed me to go to see a Herald of Purity next, I take it that NPC isn't in yet.

I was having a good time until I got to Minister Cho's Estate.
Then I went, lolwut.
So much pain here, got to the end and then the peasant died before I could save it. Oh the joy of a 4 man party... Not to mention animals that can yell "I Will Avenge You!" and the miracle that anything could still be alive in Minister Cho's Estate after 2 years.
"Help! Can anybody hear me?"
"Oh hey there sister, today's your lucky day, I just happened to be in town."
"Oh praise be to Dwayna, I've been yelling like this for the past 2 years!"

This.
Thanks for the advice, by the way. I ramped up the defense on my heroes, threw SY! on my current character (Assassin) and had little trouble.

All of the things you have to do in these quests/DE is kill X enemies. It doesn't matter whether progress is displayed in a number or progress bar and optional things like putting out fire is nice, but you won't complete any DE by putting out fire alone. I have played GW2 at GC last year and quests always involved killing a number of NPCs with no story behind.
In essence, the cleansing quests are nothing more than the journey through the map in GW2 completing some DEs here and there. There's no difference between your average cleansing quest and quests found in any asia grinder.
By the way, you are wrong, there is a number of very good, high quality quests in GW1, which tell a story, even set the focus on the story, while using game mechanics as a tool not the reason of the quest.
